If you don't like how it turns out, you can always re-toggle the brush settings. Use the canvas to test out your new brush. You can toggle the controllers to figure out the size, rotation, and spacing randomness. This part really isn't necessary, but if you want to make a feather brush or something, this is your type of feature. (Remember to put it on the active layer or else it won't work.) And then, you press capture, and focus the capturing circle on the target. For the capture feature, you first draw the shape you want. You can either import or "capture" the shape. ![]() Nib Īh, yes, my favorite part! Go down the nib section, and click the little box that says, shape. Rotation, sure, but this is a custom brush. All the others are fine being left alone. Adjust the spacing to make a stamp brush. This isn't really necessary, unless you're going for a stamp brush, which I'll be explaining in more detail down. Adjust it all you want, and It'll change how your brush flows while you apply less pressure, or more pressure. Get it?įor my example, I'm going to go for a glow brush. If you want to make a smudge brush, click smudge. If you want it to be a glow brush, do glow. If you want to do just a normal one, go click standard. The default brush is the "current brush", which basically copies the shape and brush type of the brush you clicked before you started making the custom brushes. You'll have to choose what brush type you want your brush to be. It looks like the picture on the right.Īfter you created the brush, this will appear (see left pic) Now, go onto the new brush set you made, and click-drag on the dotted circle. Drag your mouse to the top one, that creates a brush set! Click on the name of the brush set to rename it! See the dotted circle on the top right of it? Click-drag it, and you'll see a menu. Oh, and remember to think about what kind of brush you want to create, for what purpose, etc before you do it.Īlso, this only works on desktop version of sketchbook, not the mobile. Open the brush properties tab and the brush library. Trust me, you're going to need a whole lotta space for this. Step 0: Open Autodesk Sketchbook in a new canvas In case your wondering, this program is free and easy to use, but the desktop and mobile version both has its pros and cons. Now, the program I use is Autodesk Sketchbook, so there's a 0% chance that it'll work for other programs. Heya!
